Park Carnival Keeps Charity, Mom in Mind

Share

North Hollywood Park will be the site of a carnival for charity this weekend.

The Starscene Carnival begins today and continues through Sunday with rides, games, food and even flower and balloon vendors for last-minute Mother’s Day shopping.

The carnival is sponsored by the San Fernando Valley Charitable Foundation and the North Hollywood-Universal City Chamber of Commerce. Although there is no admission or parking cost, there are nominal fees for rides and food, said Nancy Schmidt of the foundation. Proceeds benefit park programs and children’s charities.

“It’s just a fun weekend event,” Schmidt said. “Something to take the kids to, something to take Mom to. People can have fun and do something good for Valley charities at the same time.”
