Schools / Education news : District Names 3 Teachers of Year
The Irvine Unified School District has chosen Sylvia Rosenzweig, Valerie Henry and Joslynne Blasdel as its teachers of the year.
Rosenzweig, a 29-year educator who teaches kindergarten at Westpark Elementary, was chosen in the elementary school category.
Henry, the middle school winner, began her career in 1986 in the Irvine school district, where she now teaches mathematics at South Lake Middle School.
Blasdel, a music teacher for 25 years, is in charge of instrumental music at Woodbridge High School.
The three were honored at a banquet this week.
