Mossimo Will Stay in New Irvine Quarters

After scouting around for nearly a year at possible sites for a new headquarters building, Mossimo Inc. will stick with Irvine’s Spectrum.

The Irvine Co. will build a 206,000-square-foot corporate headquarters and manufacturing complex for Mossimo in the Spectrum. Mossimo will lease the 164,000-square-foot warehouse and manufacturing building and a 42,000-square-foot corporate headquarters building. Construction will begin in September and the building is scheduled to be completed in May 1997.

Mossimo moved into its current building in Irvine’s Spectrum in 1989, but subsequently expanded it three times. Mossimo now has about 250 employees in Irvine.

Counting the Mossimo facility, Irvine Co. officials say that they have about 70 buildings, totaling 4.2 million square feet, under construction in the Spectrum.
