HOTEL PLANS UNDERWAY

Hermosa Beach will hold a public forum this morning to detail the issues that a consulting team will examine in an upcoming environmental study on the impact of building a luxury hotel on the Strand.

City Manager Steve Burrell said items of concern include parking, safety and the unloading and loading of deliveries. He said residents are invited to express their concerns about the project.

Construction of the three-story luxury hotel on 13th Street and the Strand is expected to begin this fall. The 97-unit Beach House is expected to open in spring 1997 and would be the first luxury hotel in the area since the Biltmore Hotel closed in 1969.
