Terry James Brown; Singer and ‘Soul Train’ Performer
Terry James Brown, 48, a performer on the “Soul Train” television show in the 1970s. Brown and his brother, Gerald, lived in Cincinnati and sang in the Mystics Trio for five years before joining “Soul Train.” The popular, long-running show, an African American version of “American Bandstand,” featured teenage dancers performing to the music of visiting celebrity singers lip-syncing their latest hits. Brown later taught music in the Los Angeles school system and was a singer for the Marriott Hotel chain. He also had been a fashion model. In Los Angeles on May 7 of lupus.
