UC Irvine’s Dean Runs Career Best 100, 200
UC Irvine senior Toby Dean ran career bests in the 100 and 200 meters Friday at the Big West Conference track and field meet.
Dean, from Mission Viejo, had the day’s fastest time for women in the 100 (11.73 seconds), then set a school record in the 200 (24.09).
“I was thrilled,” Dean said. “It was my best start ever. It’s always been a lifetime goal to break 12 seconds. This meet is going to be my last meet ever.”
Irvine is in fifth place. The meet concludes today.
Long Beach’s men were expected to challenge Utah State for the title, but the 49ers are fourth. The Aggies are in first.
