California Pacific Homes Is Tops in Survey

New home buyers ranked the Irvine division of home builder California Pacific Homes the best in overall consumer satisfaction in Southern California during 1995, according to the seventh annual Home Buyers Choice Awards. Each year, the survey asks about 10,000 home buyers to evaluate their builder. This year, 26 builders participated in the study.

California Pacific, the home building arm of the Irvine Co., took three of the top five spots in overall rankings, including construction quality and willingness of customers to recommend the company to others. “In seven years, no builder has ever received 100% on willingness to recommend to a friend . . . and California Pacific Homes did that,” said Robert Mirman, president of National Survey System, which conducted the survey. “Builders are getting better and better.”

The Presley Cos. division in San Diego had the highest-rated sales personnel of any major builder.
