Share

Oxnard police will conduct two sobriety and driver’s license checkpoints tonight to discourage impaired and unlicensed motorists from taking to city streets over the holiday weekend.

One checkpoint will be in the western portion of the city, the other in central Oxnard. Both begin at 6 p.m.

It will be the fourth series of checkpoints police have held this year.

“As in prior checkpoints, drivers found to be unlicensed or [who] have had their licenses suspended or revoked will be cited and their vehicles will be impounded for up to 30 days,” said traffic Officer Randy Latimer. “Drivers found to be driving while intoxicated will be arrested and their vehicles will be impounded.”
