David Simpson McNally; Industrial Management Executive

David Simpson McNally, 76, industrial management executive who formerly headed Amphenol’s Space & Missile Systems Division in Chatsworth. McNally left Los Angeles, where he served on Mayor Sam Yorty’s Community Advisory Committee, to serve as president of Amphenol in Chicago. He returned to Southern California as majority owner of Patel Inc., which franchised Thrifty Rent-A-Car at LAX and in Orange and San Diego counties. Born in Boston and educated at MIT, McNally served as an Army air service ordnance officer during World War II. He later held executive positions at Studebaker-Packard Corp., SCM Corp., Coleman Cable & Wire Co. and Right Away Foods Corp. where he built an assembly plant to produce field meals for the military. On May 13 in San Antonio, Texas.
