TLC’s T-Boz will make her solo debut--under her real name, Tionne Watkins--with a song on the soundtrack for “Fled,” an action thriller starring Stephen Baldwin and Laurence Fishburne. Producer Dallas Austin is overseeing the album, which will also include new songs by Monica, the Tony Rich Project and Fishbone. It’s due just before the film’s July 18 premiere. . . .

Smashing Pumpkin D’Arcy makes her lead vocal debut in a duet with singer Mark Rew on “Four Leaf Clover,” the first single from a new album by the band Catherine, which happens to include D’Arcy’s husband, Kerry Brown. The album was recorded at the couple’s Michigan farm and is due in August. . . .

Elton John has written a song, “Horses,” for a duet with Luciano Pavarotti that will be debuted at the latter’s annual charity concert June 20 in his home town of Modena, Italy. The song will be on both a live album from the concert, probably due in early ‘97, and in a studio version on John’s next album. Others appearing at the concert, which will benefit the War Child charity for children caught in the Bosnian conflict, will include Eric Clapton, Joan Osborne, Natalie Cole and Sheryl Crow. . . .

Both Paul Kantner of the Jefferson Airplane and Ray Manzarek of the Doors have recorded spoken histories of their respective bands with producer Harvey Kubernik. Both are due in July, though Kantner’s disc will be celebrated at the June 2 House of Blues show by the current Jefferson Starship.
