Washington, Arizona in Final

COLUMBUS, Ga. — Washington advanced to the final of the NCAA World Series on Sunday when Jeanine Giordano’s three-run double in a six-run fifth inning gave the Huskies an 8-2 victory over UCLA.
Washington (59-8) plays Arizona, a winner over Iowa, for the title today.
Jennifer Cline’s two-run single gave the Huskies a 2-0 lead in the third inning, but Kim Wuest’s two-run homer an inning later tied it for UCLA (47-11).
Sara Pickering led off Washington’s fifth inning with a homer, and Giordano’s double followed two singles and an error.
Mindy Williams then doubled home Giordano and scored on an error.
Heather Meyer (25-3) gave up eight hits and struck out two for Washington.
Arizona 10, Iowa 2--Lety Pineda hit a three-run homer in the first inning and Jenny Dalton added her 24th home run for the Wildcats (59-8).
Four Arizona players had at least two hits, and only one starter failed to get a hit.
