Men Posing as Police Shoot Up Home, Flee

The recent string of home invasion robberies throughout the San Fernando Valley took an even stranger turn just after midnight Tuesday, police said.

Two armed men kicked down the door of a home in the 20400 block of Saticoy Street in West Hills and surprised a woman sitting in her living room. The men told the woman they were Los Angeles police officers and then pulled out guns, said West Valley Police Lt. Ray Lombardo.

Police said the men fired random shots inside the residence, but the unidentified woman was unharmed.

Oddly enough, the men left the home after the shots, and did not take any valuables or cash.

Officers have not determined a motive for the incident, but are investigating.
