City Departments Get OK to Raise Fees

Share

Increases in some fees charged by Placentia’s planning and building division, public works and other city departments won final approval from the City Council.

Placentia had not revised its fee schedule since 1991, City Administrator Robert D’Amato said, to avoid burdening local businesses during difficult economic times. The council approved the increases last week by a 4-to-1 vote.

Many fees will be raised to reflect a 13% cost-of-living increase over the past five years. In the public works department, for instance, construction inspection fees for driveways will be hiked from $22.86 to $26, and the cost of connecting to a sewer mainline will rise from $45.24 to $51.

The council will next meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, when the city budget for fiscal 1996-97 will be studied. Approval of the budget will be considered at the June 18 meeting.
