Former Orange Coast College President David A. Grant will return to campus as the featured speaker at the college’s commencement today.
“We invited Dave to speak this year because so many students requested him as their speaker,” said Nancy L. Kidder, the organizer of OCC’s commencement committee, which organizes the graduation ceremony.
“The students all said the same thing: He was their president while they were here, and it’s important to them that he speak at commencement,” she said.
An Orange Coast graduate himself, Grant joined the faculty in 1962. He was named president in 1989 and retired in 1995.
