ANAHEIM — Butter churning, blacksmithing and other skills from days gone by will be demonstrated today at the city’s 15th annual Heritage Day celebration of Western history and culture.
Several thousand people are expected to attend the free, family-oriented event, which will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim Hills.
Other activities will include performances by an American folk music string band, native American storytelling and dancing, early Californian arts and crafts, pony rides and a petting zoo.
Co-sponsoring Heritage Day are the city of Anaheim and the Canyon Hills Junior Women’s Club, which draws members from Anaheim, Yorba Linda and surrounding communities.
The nature center, on East Walnut Canyon Road off Nohl Ranch Road, is next to Anaheim Hills Golf Course. A free shuttle service to the center will be offered from the golf course parking lot at 6501 E. Nohl Ranch Road.
