UC Irvine will not renew the contract of women’s tennis Coach Doreen Irish, UC Irvine Athletic Director Dan Guerrero announced Tuesday.
Irish has been head coach the past 23 years, compiling a 347-284 record. The Anteaters have not had a winning season since 1992, finishing this season 9-15 overall.
Guerrero said Irish will remain as an instructor in the university’s campus recreation program. He said a search for a new coach will begin immediately.
