SAG’s Sumi Haru Among LEAP Honorees

Sumi Sevilla Haru, vice president of the Screen Actors Guild and AFL-CIO, will be among the honorees at the eighth annual Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics (LEAP) awards dinner July 18 at the Hyatt Regency Los Angeles.

Haru, recognized for her contributions to the community, will be joined by fellow honorees Michael I. Mitoma, mayor of Carson; educator and community leader Mary Lee Shon; Asians for Miracle Marrow Matches (A3M); and UC Berkeley chancellor Chang-Lin Tien, who will deliver the keynote address.

A 6 p.m. reception will precede the dinner.
