All five members of the Ojai City Council have endorsed Kathy Long in her bid to replace retiring county Supervisor Maggie Kildee.

“After talking one on one with Kathy, I am convinced that her experience and grasp of regional issues make her the most qualified candidate,” said Mayor Jim Loebl. “Kathy will listen to residents and work hard to represent Ojai’s interests.”

Long, Kildee’s top aide, is competing in the November general election against Camarillo Councilman Mike Morgan to represent the 3rd Supervisorial District, which includes Santa Paula, Fillmore, Camarillo, Ojai and a portion of Thousand Oaks.

She said she was pleased to win the endorsement of Ojai officials.

“Each and every area of the district deserves a qualified, experienced leader who will be their voice on the Board of Supervisors,” Long said. “I’m proud that the City Council members feel that I am the candidate who will be the best advocate for Ojai.”

Long, who once served as an Ojai field representative for Kildee, won every one of the city’s precincts in the March primary election.
