I had to stick my head in the freezer to keep my blood from boiling after reading the letter from Ruth Wallach (June 5) regarding your series on values.
I am in the process of mailing out free information to approximately 2,000 families across the country on how to live on less so that one parent can stay home to “parent.” One mother wrote back describing child-raising as “glorious.” I cannot think of a better term.
If Ms. Wallach, as a “working professional woman,” believes that child care is expensive and that the educational system is “shaky,” I suggest she do what our family does and what I am recommending to these families: Stay at home with your kids instead of leaving them with strangers and get involved with their school to make it better.
There is no more noble effort on this planet than that of raising a child. It is not easy and I will be the first one to state that the best man for this job is a woman.
