Investigators have found new documents showing that the mayor of Paris illegally used public funds to renovate a city-owned apartment for his son, Le Monde reported. The newspaper said investigators found two notes from 1983 and 1986 showing that Jean Tiberi ordered the repairs while he was deputy to then-Mayor Jacques Chirac, now the French president. Le Monde said the notes were seized in a police search June 4. A former Paris housing official has said the remodeling of the city-owned apartment cost the city $300,000.
