Beach Sessions--The Oak Canyon Nature Center is presenting two classes on the ocean for 2- to 6-year-olds. Activities and encounters may include guided nature walks, animals, crafts and take-home materials.

Each program lasts one hour and costs $3 per child per session. Registration is suggested since space is limited.

* By the Sea: Children explore why the ocean is salty and which animals make the ocean their home. For children 2 to 4 years old. Meets Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.

* Ocean Watch: Children ages 4 to 6 learn differences between inland and ocean terrain. Meets Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m.

To get to the center, take the Riverside Freeway to the Imperial Highway turnoff. Exit and head south to Nohl Ranch Road. Turn left and travel about three miles to Walnut Canyon Road, and turn left again. Pass the Anaheim Hills Golf Course; the nature center is at the end of the road, parking is on the left.

Marine Rescue--Stop by Oak Canyon Nature Center on Wednesday evening at 7 for a twilight tour of the canyon. An educational program begins at 7:30 p.m.

Admission is free. Call the Nature Center at (714) 998-8380 for more information and for group reservations.

Camp It Up--Upper Newport Bay will hold educational programs by campfire every Saturday at 7:30 p.m. throughout the summer.
