Chopra Cuts Album Deal: Upaya, the new spiritual music division of Tommy Boy Records, has signed a seven-figure, three-album deal with Indian author Deepak Chopra, whose 16 books have sold more than 10 million copies worldwide. Chopra turned down offers from Atlantic Records and Mercury Records to sign with Tommy Boy’s Upaya, a joint venture with Time Warner.
