Nabisco Poised to Restructure, Slash Costs: The food giant is expected next month to unveil a major restructuring plan aimed at slashing costs and boosting earnings. Wall Street expects Nabisco to take several cost-cutting steps, including moving its Planters LifeSavers division from Winston-Salem, N.C., to its headquarters in Parsippany, N.J. Nabisco Holdings Corp., which is 80.5% owned by RJR Nabisco Holdings Corp., confirmed it has nearly finished an extensive study of its operations. “The review process should be completed in . . . a matter of weeks,” said Caroline Fee, a spokeswoman for Nabisco, maker of products such as Oreo cookies, Ritz crackers and Grey Poupon mustard.
