COSTA MESA —
Ceradyne Inc. received a contract from General Dynamics Corp. to make lightweight ceramic armor under a Marine Corps contract.
Earlier this month, a General Dynamics unit received a contract valued at more than $200 million to build the Marines’ new advanced amphibious assault vehicle.
Ceradyne said it expects to generate sales of about $100 million in the production phase during a 5-year period beginning about 2005.
Costa Mesa-based Ceradyne makes advanced technical ceramics for industrial, defense and consumer markets.
