Churches Will Host Joint Service in Park

Thousands of worshipers are expected Sunday morning as 19 Camarillo churches forsake their individual services and combine to host an all-city service. The two-hour event begins at 10 a.m. in Constitution Park, at the corner of Carmen Drive and Paseo Camarillo next to City Hall.

“The primary purpose is to just have one worship service in which several churches get together to lift up the name of Jesus Christ,” said Pastor Darrell Foote of Camarillo Christian Church, one of the churches participating.

“It’s the first time it’s been done on a Sunday morning, when many of the churches are not having their own individual services,” he said.

Members from the churches’ choirs plan to perform together for the first time. “They’ve practiced two or three times,” Foote said. “But anyone from any of the individual choirs is invited to participate.”

The event is open everyone. For more information, call 482-5424.
