Making Cents: Bonding With Generous Rates

Bond interest rates today look pretty generous when you compare them with the yields available on the main competition: stocks. Even six-month Treasury bills are yielding almost 2 1/2 times the aggregate yield of the stocks in Standard & Poor’s 500 index. That’s the highest level for that ratio since the late 1980s, S&P; analysts say. But experts warn people to be cautious about outthinking the credit markets.
