CKE Names Murphy Executive Vice President

Rory J. Murphy has been appointed executive vice president of CKE Restaurants Inc., Anaheim-based parent company of Carl Karcher Enterprises Inc. Murphy is responsible for the operation of 660 company and franchised Carl’s Jr. restaurants and oversees facilities maintenance, quality assurance, product optimization, training and development, restaurant information systems and public relations. Murphy, who has been with CKE for 18 years, was previously senior vice president of restaurant operations.

* Rodney M. Linford has been appointed vice president and general manager, Space Flight Programs, for McDonnell Douglas in Huntington Beach. He succeeds George Kersels, who has left the company. Linford, who has been with McDonnell Douglas since 1968, joined the Space Station program in April 1994 as vice president-deputy general manager. Prior to that he was vice president-general manager of program integration on the C-17 Globemaster III program.

* Roger Hay has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer for Pinnacle Micro Inc., an Irvine maker of recordable CD technology and optical storage systems. He succeeds Kevin Lehnert, who had been acting CFO since January 1995 and will continue to work in the company’s finance department. Hay was previously senior vice president of finance and CFO of Titan Corp.
