Bullfrogs Defeat Denver in Shootout

The Bullfrogs stopped the Denver DareDevils’ two-game winning streak, coming from behind for an 8-7 Roller Hockey International victory Wednesday night at McNichols Arena in Denver.

The Bullfrogs (9-2-1) tied the score in the last three minutes on goals by Savo Mitrovic and Sean O’Brien and won on a shootout with Todd Wetzel, Glenn Stewart, Victor Gervais and Rick Judson scoring.

Joe Cook scored two goals and Darren Banks had two assists for the Bullfrogs.

Tied, 3-3, at the end of the first quarter, Denver came out strong in the second quarter to go ahead, 5-4, at the half. After a scoreless third quarter, Denver took the lead, 7-5, but the Bullfrogs scored at the 9:25 and 10:45 marks to tie the score.

Gino Santerre, Jon Vecchiarelli and Kevin St. Jacques were the top scorers for the DareDevils.
