Secret Pals Sought to Aid Needy Children

The city is searching for people to become “Secret Pals” to assist needy children who cannot afford to participate in recreational programs.
Children in the 5-year-old program are primarily from low-income families who cannot afford to pay for city-sponsored events, including swimming lessons and a variety of other activities.
“Secret Pals is a year-round program,” said Rosemary Castro, the program’s coordinator. “However, the need for donations in the summer is greater because the demand for classes is greater.
“Through the generosity of a Secret Pal, these kids can leave the streets and take part in a variety of fun activities that can make a difference in their lives.”
Anyone interested in becoming a Secret Pal is asked to call (714) 738-3146.
