Obituaries : Alice E. Glaister; Retired Purchasing Agent
Alice E. Glaister, a Ventura resident for 46 years, died Sunday at a hospital in Valencia. She was 94.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., Glaister moved to Ventura County and worked as a purchasing agent at the Port Hueneme Navy base.
After retiring in 1964, Glaister remained active in the Retired Employees Assn. She was a member of the Ventura Women’s Club as well as the Order of the Eastern Star. She also served a term as president of the Ventura chapter of St. Anne’s Guild and volunteered at the Ventura County Fair for more than 20 years.
Glaister is survived by daughters Rosemary Ott of Valencia and Lorraine Millard of Oxnard, as well as seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Friday at the Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Chapel in Ventura.
