County Hikes Price of Matrimony, Business
Getting married and registering a new business name in the county just got a little more expensive.
The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved increasing the cost of a marriage license from $57 to $66.
They also agreed to raise the amount it costs to register a new business name from $21 to $24.
The new fee increases, which take effect Aug. 19, are expected to generate an extra $50,000 a year for the county, said Assistant County Clerk Janet Bagby.
