‘Junior Olympics’ Part of Downtown Promo
Goodnight Laguna, a once-a-month promotion for city businesses, will take a new tack today with a “Junior Olympics” contest for children.
Youngsters from ages 5 to 14 can enter a variety of events, from the long jump and water balloon toss to the gunny sack race. All participants are eligible to earn “Olympic medals.”
Goodnight Laguna, held every third Wednesday, is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. The event, intended to draw shoppers downtown, offers a variety of activities and entertainment. Events begin at 6 p.m.
The “Junior Olympics” will be on Forest Avenue, which will be closed to traffic between South Coast Highway and Glenneyre Street.
