Bravo Handles Scoring; Clash Tops Rapids, 2-1

DENVER — Paul Bravo scored twice Wednesday night, leading the San Jose Clash past the Colorado Rapids, 2-1, in front of 6,117 at Mile High Stadium.
Bravo scored his first goal in the 14th minute, taking a cross from Missael Espinoza and tapping in a low shot to the far post. His second goal came off a throw-in from Ben Iroha in the 50th minute.
Colorado’s only score came in the 80th minute when Shaun Bartlett netted a cross from Chris Henderson, who had beaten two defenders to get to the top of the penalty area.
San Jose goalkeeper Dave Salzwedal made seven saves, including two in the last minute. The Clash remain tied with Dallas for third in the Western Conference.
