Reward Offered in Theft Investigation
Ventura County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of a man who robbed a beauty supply store last month in Newbury Park.
The robbery occurred June 29 about 4:15 p.m. Witnesses say an unidentified man entered Atlas Beauty Supply at 2092 Newbury Park Road, brandished a knife and then made off with an undetermined amount of cash.
The man is described as possibly white, about 40 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 170 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. He was wearing a white cowboy hat, green long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans.
After entering the store, he displayed a knife to an employee and demanded cash from the register, said Sheriff’s Sgt. Francis O’Hanlon.
The suspect fled the area in a gray, four-door vehicle. Witnesses said the license plate included “FBT 333.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 494-TALK. Callers may remain anonymous. If the information leads to an arrest, the caller may be eligible for a reward.
