Share

Applications are being accepted for the California Business Week educational program for young entrepreneurs, running Aug. 4 to 9 at Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.

The weeklong program, open to students entering their junior or senior years in high school, allows participants to meet business leaders in the region, tour the area’s key industries, test their business mettle in computer simulations and produce a 30-second television commercial.

Students selected for the program will also receive a scholarship covering the $275 cost of the program from a local business, foundation, civic organization or chamber of commerce in Ventura County.

The program is sponsored by the Ventura County Economic Development Assn., the Ventura County superintendent of schools, GTE, Santa Barbara Bank and Trust and the Limoneira Co.

A $25 registration fee, not covered by the scholarship, is required to attend California Business Week.

A few spots in the program still remain.
