The damage and harm to the people that this type of article causes is incalculable. I do not know Mike Martin, but I have known Rick Beguelin for more than 20 years. During that period, in this community, he has been known as a straightforward, honest and hard-working businessman and individual.
While it is unfortunate that these “investors” have lost money, there are inherent risks in these types of partnerships. Your paper made a conscious decision to publish this story with a total disregard for these two individuals, their families, any present or future business contacts and possibly the facts.
