Fair Will Offer Rides, Exhibits and Auctions

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the San Fernando Valley Fair on Thursday kicks off four days of thrill rides, educational exhibits and livestock auctions in Burbank.

Returning to the Los Angeles Equestrian Center for the fifth consecutive year, this year’s fair will feature the Flying U Rodeo and the Skyriders Bike and Aerial Thrill Show. Also scheduled are arts and crafts exhibits, a nightly karaoke contest and an interactive NASA presentation called “Mission to Planet Earth.”

Throughout the fairgrounds, visitors will be able to sample a variety of ethnic foods, a midway of thrill rides and live entertainment for adults and children.

The Los Angeles Equestrian Center is located at 480 Riverside Drive. Admission is $6, with children 11 and younger admitted free. On Thursday, senior citizens 62 years and older will be admitted free until 6 p.m.

The fair will be open from 4 to 10:30 p.m. Thursday, noon to 10:30 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
