Rodney King Faces Charge of Parole Violation for Hit-Run
Rodney King’s misdemeanor hit-and-run driving conviction earlier this month led Monday to a charge that he violated terms of probation set in a drunken driving case.
King still has a potential probation violation sentence of six months in jail and $500 in fines “hanging over his head” from the 1994 conviction, said Mike Qualls, spokesman for the Los Angeles city attorney’s office.
King, 31, was placed on three years probation after pleading no contest to drunken driving. A probation violation hearing was set for Aug. 13.
