CorVel Corp.: The Irvine provider of managed care services said that net income for the first quarter of fiscal 1997 reached a record $2 million, or 43 cents a share, up 18% from the $1.7 million, or 37 cents a share, for the first quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 increased 12% to $29.9 million from $26.8 million.
