Ella M. Gibson, a five-year resident of Ventura, died after a long illness.

She was 86.

Gibson was born Nov. 16, 1909, in De Pugh, Okla. She came to Ventura from Konowa, Okla., in 1991.

Her sister, Hazel Frazee of Santa Paula, called Gibson a devoted Christian. In Oklahoma she attended the Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by two sisters, Frazee and Edith Gibson of Fresno, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gibson was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Gibson, and two sisters, Mildred Lynes and Pearl Taber.

Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura. A graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ivy Lawn Cemetery in Ventura, with the Rev. Ruby Mae Savage officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Heart Assn. of Ventura County, 1385 Del Norte Road, Camarillo.
