Health-Care Foundation Announces Grants
* The Camarillo-based Swift Memorial Health Care Foundation awarded $45,700 in grants to 16 Ventura County health-care groups and four students.
Formed in 1985, the Swift Foundation evaluates health-care needs of the community and twice yearly provides grants and scholarships to worthy organizations and students pursuing careers in the health-care industry.
The following grant winners were announced at a reception July 11 at the Corinthian Yacht Club in Oxnard:
* Oxnard College students Christine Cobb and Bridget Cordisco, $500 each.
* Ventura College students Kei Mei Chan and Brenda Montgomery, $500 each.
* AIDS Care, $1,500.
* Camarillo Hospice, $2,000.
* Caregivers, $3,000.
* Catholic Charities/OASIS, $2,500.
* Conejo Free Clinic, $2,000.
* Hope for Kids, $2,500.
* Medical Resource Foundation, $3,000.
* Palmer Drug and Alcohol Program, $3,500.
* Primary Purpose, $4,500.
* Rainbow Recovery Centers, $3,700.
* Special Californians Foundation, $2,500.
* Tri-County Easter Seal, $3,000.
* Turning Point Foundation, $2,500.
* Ventura County Community AIDS Partnership, $2,500.
* Vision-Loss Support Services, $2,500.
* Wellness Community, $2,500.
