Takawira, Preki Lead Wiz

Digital Takawira had two goals and an assist and Preki added a goal and two assists as the Kansas City Wiz defeated the New England Revolution, 4-2, on Saturday night at Kansas City, Mo.

Mark Chung also scored and Garth Lagerwey and Mike Ammann combined to make for four saves for Kansas City (11-11). Peter Woodring and Darren Sawatzky scored for New England (9-5) in front of 11,555.

Dallas 3, Colorado 0--Second-half goals by Leonel Alvarez, Hugo Sanchez and Gerrell Elliott put the Brun on the road to victory, blanking the Rapids before 9,081 at Dallas.

Alvarez scored in the 53rd minute on a give-and-go from Sanchez. Sanchez scored on a penalty kick in the 64th minute after Matt Kmosko was pulled down from behind in the penalty area.

Elliott ended the scoring on with a low shot into the net, past Rapids’ goalkeeper Chris Woods. Mark Dodd recorded his fifth shutout of the season in goal for Dallas (13-9).
