Ibarra Sends JetHawks to 1-0 Defeat
Jesse Ibarra is fast becoming the JetHawks’ nemesis. He drove in the winning run Sunday night, following similar heroics the evening before, as the San Jose Giants defeated the JetHawks, 1-0, before 1,507 at Municipal Stadium.
The JetHawks (17-21), in last place in the California League’s Southern Division, have lost four in a row and 14 of their past 18.
JetHawk left-hander Trey Moore (3-4) and San Jose’s Darrin Blood (13-6), the league victory leader, matched zeros until the final inning, when Ibarra, who hit a game-winning homer in the bottom of the ninth on Saturday, followed an error by JetHawk shortstop Mike Lanza with a run-scoring single.
