* Joe Cabral, president of the California/Western States chapter of the ESOP Assn., has been chosen to serve a one-year term as an at-large member on the association’s national board of directors. Cabral is chief executive of Chatsworth Products in Westlake Village.

The ESOP Assn. is a national nonprofit organization of American companies that offer employee stock ownership plans.

* Mary Ann and Jerry Underwood, owners of PAL Employer Services in Oxnard, have been elected to the Ventura County Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The Underwoods’ company has made significant contributions to local scouting in terms of financial and human resource assistance, scouting officials said.

* Haskel International Inc. in Burbank has appointed Doranda Frison as president of its electronic products group and M.G. Electronics Inc., its principal electronics subsidiary.

Frison succeeds James C. Minyard, who left the company. Frison was previously vice president of sales and marketing at M.G., and most recently was vice president of operations for AT&T;’s western region.

Haskel manufactures high-pressure liquid pumps and gas boosters.

* Solid Concepts Inc., a Valencia provider of rapid prototyping and manufacturing services, has named Tom Vorgitch as vice president of marketing.

Prior to joining Solid Concepts, Vorgitch was director of corporate marketing for the MacNeal-Schwendler Corp. He has also held engineering and marketing positions at 3D Systems Inc. and Lockheed Corp.

* Mark A. Nelson, a partner in the law firm of England, Whitfield, Schroeder & Tredway, has been installed as a member of the board of directors of the World Affairs Council of Ventura County.

His legal practice focuses on real property, business litigation and family law.

* Lawrence Nathanson, a certified public accountant, recently passed the state bar exam. He will continue to serve his accounting clients in the Westlake Village practice he has had for 11 years, but he also will offer legal services to his individual and corporate clients.

His law practice will focus on wills, trusts, real estate transactions and corporations.

* Fred and Kay Hodges, owners of Single Source Print & Graphics in Ventura, were honored at the 15th anniversary of the Southern California chapter of the National Assn. of Quick Printers, which they founded. Kay Hodges was chairman of the group for its first two years.

The association is devoted to the educational and economic needs of small commercial and quick printers.

* Litton Industries Inc. has named Harry Halamandaris as its corporate senior vice president. He will remain as group executive for Litton’s electronic warfare systems divisions.

Halamandaris joined the company in 1995. Previously, he worked for Teledyne Inc. for more than 20 years in various management posts.

Litton, headquartered in Woodland Hills, is a major defense contractor, providing combat ships and navigation systems for the U. S. military and allied nations.

* Special Devices Inc. has named James E. Littlefield as its corporate executive vice president.

Littlefield was recently business director with ICI Americas Inc., an air-bag products concern.

Special Devices, based in Newhall, used to rely on defense contracts but in recent years has increasingly shifted to commercial markets. It sells trigger devices that are used in air bags sold by major auto makers.

Bruce Rider has been named senior vice president of programming for Disney TeleVentures. The Burbank-based unit handles programming, marketing and technology functions for Americast, the interactive television partnership that Walt Disney Co. has formed with Ameritech, Bell South, GTE, SBC and SNET.

Rider is a former programming executive with the Disney Channel.
