Consumer Credit Counseling Service in Ventura has been accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children.
The consumer credit service, with its main branch at 290 Maple Court, Suite 118, is a nonprofit organization that provides professional budget counseling at no charge, debt management planning, and education programs regarding budgeting and credit. Certified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, it also provides counseling about housing and home buyer workshops for the community.
The national organization has been accredited for years, but this is the first time the Ventura office has been accredited, said an agency spokeswoman.
The accreditation procedure involves an in-depth, detailed examination of the agency’s operation, including personnel, safety, and fiscal and program management.
The Council on Accreditation is an independent, nonprofit organization that establishes and reviews the accreditation of social services and mental health agencies in the U.S. and Canada.
