Truck Firm Settles Vehicle Fee Case

Share

A truck rental firm in Lake Forest agreed to pay $60,000 to settle charges that it violated consumer protection laws by failing to pay appropriate registration fees to the state of California for the past four years.

The Orange County district attorney’s office alleged that Bargain Truck Rental and its owner, Robert Fickinger, had been reporting lower purchase prices on vehicles it bought for its leasing business, subsequently paying lower vehicle license fees to the state.

Bargain Truck Rental, which rents trucks to the public, agreed to pay $60,000 in fees and civil penalties and to adhere to provisions of the state’s Vehicle Code, but did not admit any wrongdoing.
