Blanket Accusation Against NRA Wrong

Regarding the senseless killing of Millie Wilson, shame on Bernard Lehrer for his hateful allegation that “Millie was gunned down by the NRA and the greedy politicians who support it.”

I realize of course that Mr. Lehrer is grieving for the loss of his close friend, but nevertheless it is wrong to make stupid and mean-spirited remarks. When he says the “NRA,” does he mean its philosophy, its leadership or all its members? When he says “greedy politicians who support it,” who is he talking about? They killed Millie Wilson?

No, Mr. Lehrer. More than likely, the killer responsible for the heinous crime is someone who obtained his gun illegally, has a history of crime and has been through our revolving-door criminal-justice system several times. Almost daily there are incidents in our county of individuals who consciously make a decision to kill (using a gun, a knife or their bare hands). These are the killers and they should be held responsible for their choices. Making blanket accusations at groups you happen to dislike serves no useful purpose.
