Man Linked to Local Bank Robbery

A man arrested Thursday for allegedly robbing a bank in Manhattan Beach has been linked by authorities to a Wednesday holdup at a Simi Valley bank. When John Allen Wagner, 28, of Inglewood, was arrested Thursday, police didn’t have to look far for a connection to Simi Valley: Wagner was holding money from the Wednesday robbery, Simi Valley Police Det. John Parks said.
The money came from a Coast Federal Bank branch at 1301 E. Los Angeles Ave. Wagner walked into the branch about 11:40 a.m., presented a teller with a note demanding money and then left with an undisclosed amount of cash, Parks said. Wagner is being held in Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles with bail set at $35,000, according to a jail spokeswoman.
