2nd TWA Jet Engine, 2 More Bodies Found
Salvage crews recovered the second of TWA Flight 800’s four engines and the remains of two more victims off Long Island, N.Y. So far, 198 bodies have been recovered. A third engine has been located underwater. The fourth was believed buried under “a substantial amount of wreckage,” a Navy spokesman said. The Paris-bound jet exploded off Long Island on July 17, killing all 230 people on board. Evidence on an engine--a certain type of dent or flame pattern, for instance--could help determine the cause of the disaster.
