StarBase Corp. said Monday that Alan M. Davis has been named president and chief executive of the company, succeeding William R. Stow, who co-founded StarBase and will continue to serve as chairman.

Davis has served as director and chief operating officer of StarBase since January. StarBase, based in Irvine, makes software designed to help software developers share notes and work together while writing new programs.

Davis “has made a significant contribution in improving the organization and overall management of the company,” Stow said.
